IPOH, March 31 (Bernama) -- Perak FC Head Coach, Yusri Che Lah admitted that he is still searching for the best combination to form his  team ahead of the new Malaysian League (M-League) season for 2024/2025 starting in May.

Yusri said that all his players are given the opportunity to be assessed, particularly focusing on their fitness level and performance momentum, which are crucial in determining the best lineup.

According to him, the warm-up matches against two clubs from Singapore, Geylang International FC and Abritex Niigata FC, also provided a platform for him to evaluate the players at his disposal.

"We (coaches) are still looking for the best eleven for the upcoming matches, but with several combinations tonight, I feel we have somewhat of an idea, but not entirely.

"Last night's match saw us lose five key players, including Sunday Afolabi who just suffered an injury, Jesper Nyhlom, and three players called up to the national Under-23 (B-23) squad, making it somewhat difficult for me to make assessments. However, the players showed great confidence in securing their place in the starting lineup," he said after the conclusion of the pre-season friendly match between Perak and Abritex Niigata at the Perak Stadium here last night.

The match witnessed The Bos Gaurus defeating the Singapore League champions 3-1.

In another friendly match prior to this, Perak also succeeded in defeating Geylang International FC 3-0.
